Jane Eyre A lot of pages left... I don't have enough time recently, all those exams are making me sick'n'tired. 19 days left and then I'll concentrate on Jane Eyre. Have you ever read it? My lecturer made me quite interested in it Its language is not such hard to wade through as I thought at first Only a few words I don't know. Practice makes perfect

And one more question: do you always check all the words you don't know in a dictionary? I'm probably too lazy to do that I always try to read it from the context I'm, of course, not always succesful But I think it's the better way to learn lg than wasting time by looking up to the dictionary. It always makes me lose the plot ...

malinQa : Practice makes perfect as I said above. As far as I'm concerned: there's still a lot of work to be done, I'm far from perfection but I hope that high motivation will help me to reach my aim I hope you'll succeed too

Yesterday I bought "Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris. It has 421 pages but I hope I'll read it during this holidays. I read this book in Polish some time ago, so I know what to expect. Nevertheless, I feel I must expand my vocabulary. I didn't have much time during a school year (I'm a teacher at an English course) but now I have holidays and it's time to read all books and magazines in English which I haven't read so far.

And i don't use the dictionary, i'm too lazy to do it, there is to many words which i don;t understand, i'm guessing it then

hi!I usually read english classics mainly because it's cheaper to buy english books at Empik published by penguin than to buy polish ones..and now it's Emma for the third time...I also recommend the Age of innocence by Edith Wharton and Portrait of a lady by Henry James, they are so romantic for those with less perfect english and who love action I recommend sherlock holmes.

I'm reading "Cruel Enchantment" by Janine Ashbless. It's a series of short stories advertised as
"erotic fiction written by women for women" and ".... a stunning collection of unique and breathtakingly beautiful erotic fairy tales. Seductive, dazzling and strange, each story is a journey into the marvelous realsm of a fertile imagination. " Quite nice book for a holiday

I've read Into thin air written by Jon Krakauer for a week.
The book is about excursion on Mt.Everest. There is personal account about ascent of Everest. The descent was tragic in results - there was the ordeal for writer. The book is both curious and diffucult. I always have to "work" with a dictionary because the vocabulary is typial for miuntaineering. Before I started reading Into thin air I had watched other movie about mountains Touching the void. I recommend too . I am fond of the literature nad the movie about mountaineering. I really appreciate the mountaineers.

Hi everyone!!
I love reading books, I think it's a kind of addiction Recently I've finished reading the last of Tony Parson's book. Well, actually it wasn't his last, but the last I've bought and it was "Man and Boy". I like his way of assessing people and showing their motivations to take the most important decisions like... to marry somebody or not, to stay by somebody or not.. Do you like this author? Cheers!! |
